Story Explorers is a play-based, literacy-focused program for toddlers and preschoolers (ages 18 months–3 years). We blend interactive storytime, songs, movement, and hands-on activities to build early language and pre-reading skills in a fun, engaging environment.

While library storytime is often informal and social, Story Explorers offers a structured, research-backed approach led by a certified reading specialist. Every class is designed with early literacy milestones in mind, helping children build foundational skills while still having fun.

Our classes are ideal for children 18 months to 3 years old. This age range is perfect for building vocabulary, language skills, and social confidence all while developing a love for books and stories.

Yes! Parent or caregiver must stay for class and participation is encouraged. We focus on interactive activities where adults and children explore books and play together, building a positive connection to reading that continues at home.

Classes are 45 minutes, which is just the right amount of time to keep toddlers engaged, moving, and learning without feeling overwhelmed.

Each class includes a mix of:

You can easily register and pay online through our website’s booking page. We accept credit cards, and we also offer multi-class packages.

We understand that life with toddlers is unpredictable! We offer one makeup class per session, and we request at least 24 hours notice if you need to reschedule.

Just bring your child and any essentials (like diapers or a water bottle). We provide all books and materials needed for class.

We take safety seriously. All materials are sanitized between classes, and group sizes are kept small to ensure a calm, safe environment for all children.

Story Explorers is led by Laura Schmidt, a certified reading specialist with 15 years of teaching experience. Every class is designed to support early language development and foster a lifelong love of reading.
